Lab - Adding costs

You have now done some work for your training case and it's time to add costs for this to the case. Your costs will be limited by the estimate you previously created, including the totals for each of these costs.

How your estimate functions depends very much on the settings for the category of your training case. You do not have to worry about this during the training as it has already been set up in the demo database.

Exercise 1

Add an activity cost to your case

  1. Select your training case from the Case List.
  2. Select the Costs tab.
  3. Click New Cost button .
  4. At the Description dropdown list you should only see the costs that you added to your estimate in the previous lab exercise. Select Worksite Assessment.
  5. Enter Start time: 9:00am and Finish time: 9:15am.
  6. Click Save.

Exercise 2

  1. At the same tab and case, click New Cost button again.
  2. Select Gym Program from the Description dropdown list. The unit charge of $220 and Amount Left: should automatically appear. If the Amount Left box is not visible, check that Intermediate view is selected by clicking the View dropdown box.
  3. Click Save.

Add the same activity cost using the Time Sheet

Exercise 3

  1. Click the Time Sheet button .
  2. Select your own employee account from the dropdown list.
  3. Click New cost button .
  4. Select your training case as the case to add the activity to.
  5. Select Worksite Assessment from the Description dropdown list.
  6. Enter Start time: 9:00am and Finish time: 9:15am.
  7. Click Save.

This will create another cost, identical to the one added in Exercise 1.

You will now see both costs in your Time Sheet and the Costs tab.

Add a fixed charge to a document

Exercise 4

  1. At the Documentation tab of your training case add a progress note.

    2. To do this you may need to refresh your memory at Lab - Documents.

  2. Click Add cost at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
  3. Select Functional Assessment from the Description dropdown list.
  4. Enter an appropriate start and end time.
  5. Click OK.

Note that he same amount of money is added regardless of the duration entered because this cost is a fixed charge cost.

Notice also that an icon has been added next to the progress note in the grid. The new cost will also be visible at both the Costs tab and your Time Sheet.
