Lab - Estimate templates

You have already learned how to create an estimate at Lab - Estimates. The process of creating an estimate template is very similar.

Exercise 1

1. Select Lists > Estimate Templates from the main menu.
2. Click the Add New button .
3. Enter a Goal of One off Assessment, add the start date as today and the finish date 7 business days later.
4. Select Ergonomics from the Category dropdown list.
5. Click the Save toolbar button at the top of the screen to save the template.
6. Click the New Cost button in the middle section of the screen to add an activity to the template.
7. Select Ergonomic Consulting from Description dropdown list and nominate 3 hours.
8. Click Save and close the window.

This new estimate template has one cost

9. To check it go to the case for Mr Stan Black who has the Ergonomic category. Go to the Estimate tab and create a new estimate using this template.

Exercise 2

1. Select your training case.
2. Click the Estimate tab. The estimate you previously created should be selected because there is only one estimate for this case.
3. Click the Add New button in the top tool bar and select Convert Current Estimate to Template.
4. The Estimate Details screen will appear.
5. Change the Goal to Return to work full duties with a new employer.
6. Click OK.
7. To check this is now a template select Lists > Estimate Templates and go to the Estimate Template List.

In these examples, we want to delete the estimates we just made in order to avoid excess congestion when other trainees follow the same instructions in the same demo database.

Exercise 3

1. Select Lists > Estimate Templates from the main menu.
2. Select the two estimates you created in Exercise 1 and 2 above.
3. Delete them by clicking button.
