Lab - Print and Export
You want to apply the skills learned in the last lab and create a real-time, ad hoc report from what you can see in the Case List. You want to print the list, save it as a PDF file and export it to an Excel file.
These exercises will convert the Case List as it is currently displayed into reports.
- Click the Print button
on the main Case Manager toolbar. This displays a Print Preview window
with various options. You can print directly from this window.
click the arrow next to the export icon and select PDF from dropdown list to save the file to your computer.
If you click the export icon directly, a window of export options is displayed.
This useful report can be printed, attached to an email or sent, as required.
- Click the Export Grid to Excel button on the main Case Manager toolbar.
- Case Manager will opens your copy of MS Excel with a new file that contains the information in the list.
- In Excel you can further manipulate this information and/or save it to your computer.

It is a good idea to practice these skills often and to read through the extra information about grids in the rest of the site. There are more useful list tools to explore and these apply to the many different lists in Case Manager. The Case List itself has more powerful grid functions provided by the Case List Criteria, as you have seen. The better you get at using all of these features, the faster and more efficiently you will be able to work in Case Manager.
